Degree Requirements for NROTC Students

Students in the NROTC program are required to earn a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree in the major of their choice. For Navy option students, majors are classed based on a tier system, which is found in the link at the bottom.

Naval Science Classes

All NROTC students are required to take a naval science class and participate in a naval science drill session each semester. The specific courses vary depending on whether a student is pursuing the Marine Corps or Navy option. Examples of naval science classes include Naval History, Navigation, and Maneuver Warfare.

Scholarship Program Requirements

Mathematics and Science: Navy option Scholarship Program students must complete two semesters of calculus by the end of their sophomore year and two semesters of calculus-based physics by the end of their junior year.

Summer Training Cruises:

Scholarship students are also expected to participate in summer training cruises. More information regarding summers is found here.
